Meet the Composers

Students will learn about the great composers who have enriched our lives with their beautiful music. Each day a different composer will be studied, from the baroque to contemporary period. The lives of the composers are related to the times, historical events and art of the period in which they lived.  Fun team games and free t-shirt with enrollment. Introduction to Music

Students will learn about the families of musical instruments that make up the orchestra and will have an opportunity to try them, build small replicas, and play games. Free t-shirt with enrollment. June 20-24, 9:00-11:30 a.m. (ages 5-9) $165

Musical Olympics

Kids will GO FOR THE GOLD! as they establish their country for the Olympic Games, create their own Olympic flags, team colors and choose a team sponsor. At the sound of the starting pistol, the competition will begin  as kids learn musical reading and listening skills through games and physical fun. Students should come prepared to spend some class time outside.  Free t-shirt with enrollment. July 11-15, 10-11:30 a.m. $100

Blast Off With Piano!

Meets M, T for three consecutive weeks starting July 11.  Blast Off With Piano is a fun, introductory program for beginning piano students in the early elementary years.  Students will learn how to count and play basic rhythm patterns, learn keyboard geography, and how to play songs together in a “keyboard orchestra.”  There will be a short group performance at the final class.  Keyboards will be provided for the classes, but it is recommended that students have a keyboard or piano at home for practicing.  Required music will be provided. Free t-shirt with enrollment. July 11-26, Mondays and Tuesdays, 1:00-2:15 p.m., $120

Composition for Kids

Meets M, T for three consecutive weeks starting July 11.   Composition for Kids is a great way for young children to learn the elements of songwriting, even before learning how to read staff notes.  Students will learn about melodies, harmonies, and rhythms to create their own music.  Students should bring 2 sharpened pencils and regular lined paper or staff paper to class (staff paper preferred).  Free t-shirt with enrollment. July 11-26, Mondays and Tuesdays, 2:15-3:00 p.m. $120

Piano Bootcamp (Beginner)

An excellent way to “bridge the gap” during the summer, this camp is geared toward those with 1 or 2 years of private piano lessons. Students will study/review note reading, rhythm, music symbols, sight reading, listening and keyboard skills. Duets, games and other group activities make this a fun option, especially if your student needs review or is unable to take many private lessons during the summer break. Free t-shirt with enrollment. August 8-12. 9:00-11:30 a.m. $195

Piano Bootcamp (Intermediate)

An excellent way to “bridge the gap” during the summer, this camp is geared toward those with 3 -4  years of private piano lessons. Students will practice sight-reading skills, playing in duets and ensembles, listening and perfecting piano technique. Duets, games and other group activities make this a fun option, especially if your student needs review or is unable to take many private lessons during the summer break.  Free t-shirt with enrollment. August 8-12, 1:00-3:30 p.m. $195
